Blow to wiper as their Kibwezi west MP aspirant drops bid to become Masika’s running mate

The Wiper party has suffered a blow after Jackline Koni was chosen as Makueni ODM gubernatorial aspirant David Masika’s running mate.

Koni had been given the wiper ticket to vie for Kibwezi west parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections.

While addressing journalists, Masika said that he took Koni after deep consultations with his advisors. He noted that Koni has a great political experience

“We completely agree that we need our sister with us to help in building our community. After going through her CV and the person herself we came to accept that the lady is the most suitable person,” David Masika said.

Koni while speaking applauded Masika for being gender-sensitive and choosing her as his running mate. She said their focus would be to create employment for the youth.

“We saw Raila pick Martha Karua as his running mate. We have agreed to work hard and deliver the people of Makueni from the York of poverty by ensuring we create income-generating activities for the youth and women,”Koni said.

With her nomination, Wiper may not have a candidate for Kibwezi west constituency because of the IEBC timelines. Masika was the last Gubernatorial candidate to name his deputy.

Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo junior announced Lucy Mulili as his deputy, Kibwezi west MP Patrick Musimba chose Muuo Ndiku to deputise him while Proffesor Emmanuel Mutisya chose bussinesswoman Pauline Musyoka.
