Former Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has spoken on the planned impeachment of Machakos Speaker Anne Kiusya and Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
The CS stated that he is not for any impeachment of any ukambani leader, be it the Governors or speakers.
In a video address, the Labour Cabinet Secretary said that time was gone when the Kamba people had petty politics of fighting one another and they should work closely for the benefit of the people.
He noted that it was time for Kambas to unite, not have petty wars between them that would not amount to anything productive.
“As a leader of the Kamba people am not in any way planning to impeach any leader. I do not want to hear any leader being impeached, whether it’s a speaker or a Governor in the three counties, I am not in support of that,” said Mutua.
“Kambas, we have tried fighting for the longest time, and no day has ever benefited us. Let us speak with unity for the benefit of our region. This fight that has been ongoing between the county assembly and the executive has not brought any fruit at all,” he added.
The vocal cabinet secretary called on the three Ukambani governors to host a meeting where he will be present and they meet with the county assemblies to ensure peace is brokered between the two parties.
This comes a day after Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti sent a warning to the labor CS to stop meddling with Machakos County affairs.
