Ezekiel Mutua has spoken on a double tragedy that befell his family, the loss of his son days after he lost his Father Joseph Nyithya on 28th November 2024.
His father was later buried on December 11th but another tragedy befell his family, the loss of his son Brian Makenzi in an accident.
The memorial service was held on Thursday 19th at Nairobi Chapel before he was laid to rest in a low-key burial ceremony.
Taking to Facebook, Mutua disclosed the news saying, “And just after we had laid the wreaths to mark the final respects for our son, the heavens opened up and it rained heavily. As the torrents sent mourners scampering for shelter, we stood there in the rain – numb, miffed, minds blank, unable to understand anything, only held by God’s grace and His peace that surpasses all human understanding.”
Mutua went on to thank those who stood with him at that difficult moment namely Nairobi Chapel, Sentaors Kiio and Agnes Kavindu, house of clergy, their families among others.
“Burying our son just a week after burying our dad is indescribably painful. But we have experienced the love of God, family, and friends. We are grateful to everyone who sacrificed their time and resources to help us go through this difficult period in our lives. Thank you for the calls, for the comforting messages, and for the visits. ” Mutua said.

“There are people who took off duty to be with us. Some friends literally stopped their business to help us through the burial arrangements. As we seek peace and strength from the Almighty, we pray that He will replenish you as well. Thank you for your love. We release our son’s soul to God and pray that through this experience we may get to know Him better and to love Him more.” He added.
