Following the release of 2025 KCSE Results by Education CS Julius Migosi, we take a look at the top schools in Machakos County according to the provisional results.
Caring Hearts Girls High School in Tala topped the county in the provisional rankings with a mean score of 8.7 and a 91 percent transition rate to university. The school recorded a major improvement from last year’s mean of 7.5.
Carmel Girls in Mbiuni, Mwala Sub County, followed closely after posting a mean score of 8.68. The school also celebrated a 93 percent university transition rate, improving from a 7.6 mean score recorded in 2024.
Kathiani Girls secured third position with a mean score of 8.67 and a 93 percent transition rate, up from 8.1 last year. The school had 345 candidates, with 323 attaining C+ and above and qualifying for direct university admission.
St Catherine Girls recorded a mean score of 8.46 and a 95 percent transition rate, improving from last year’s mean of 7.8.

Machakos School had a total of 569 candidates and a mean of 8.37 with 4 students attaining grade A, 38 A minus, B+ 99 students, B 125, B- 154 and C+ 83, C 44, C- 19, D+ 2 and 1 D.
Matungulu Girls School had a mean of 8.13 and 303 candidates. 1 student had A, 15 A minus, 36 B Plus, 66 B, 75 B Minus, 61 C Plus, 45 C constant, 3 C Minus and 1 D plus.
Vyulya Girls followed closely with a mean of 8.1233.
St. Michael Kabaa High School had 233 candidates and a mean score of 7.85 a drop from 7.9 in 2024. 203 students will transition to university.
Misyani Girls has a mean of 7.825.
Kitonyini High School followed with a mean of 7.0739.
