Wiper Patriotric Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called on Kenyans, especially the youth, to register and vote out President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, urging them to “shoot Ruto at the ballot” during a charged rally at Uhuru Park.
Addressing thousands of delegates and supporters during the party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC), Kalonzo accused the Ruto administration of using force against protesters and political opponents, referencing the recent anti-government demonstrations led by Gen Z activists.
“Ruto ordered you to be shot not in the head but in the leg because you dared to exercise your constitutional right,” Kalonzo said to a cheering crowd. “I urge you, fellow Kenyans, Gen Zs, and young Kenyans today, to shoot Ruto at the ballot.”

He emphasized that his call was metaphorical — a rallying cry for Kenyans to use their democratic power to remove President Ruto through the ballot box rather than violence.
“If you have not yet, I implore you to register to vote,” he continued. “How many of you are ready to shoot Ruto at the ballot? This is what will make Ruto a one-term president. Komboa Kenya!”
The Wiper leader’s remarks come amid renewed political realignments within the opposition, where calls for voter registration have intensified ahead of the 2027 polls. Kalonzo, who has positioned himself as a potential presidential candidate, said Kenya’s youth must take charge of the country’s future through active participation in elections.
“Do not let anyone intimidate you. Your voice, your vote, is your weapon. Use it wisely,” he said.
Kalonzo also criticized the Kenya Kwanza government for what he termed as economic mismanagement and insensitivity to the plight of ordinary citizens, urging Kenyans to “stand up for justice and democracy.”
The National Delegates Conference, attended by party officials, grassroots leaders, and coalition partners, marked a renewed push by Wiper to strengthen its national presence and mobilize voter registration drives across the country.
