Muthale and Kyondoni Girls 2025 KCSE Results

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba on Friday, January 9, announced the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, with several schools in Kitui County registering notable improvements.

St. Anne’s Muthale Girls School posted an improved mean score of 8.83, up from 8.79 in the 2024 KCSE examinations. The school recorded strong top-grade performance, with nine students attaining grade A, 27 scoring A-, and 75 earning B+.

Further results showed 110 students with grade B (plain), 87 with B-, 35 with C+, 10 with C (plain), six with C-, and one candidate scoring D+.

Kyondoni Girls Secondary School also improved its performance, recording a mean score of 7.24, up from 7.11 in 2024. The school presented 238 candidates for the examination. Of these, six scored B+, 33 attained B (plain), 65 earned B-, 68 scored C+, 44 obtained C (plain), 18 got C-, and four candidates recorded D+.

National Performance Overview

At the national level, over 270,000 candidates scored C+ and above, qualifying for direct university entry, while 1,932 candidates attained a straight A.

Out of the 993,226 candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE examinations, 492,012 were male and 501,214 were female, representing 49.54 per cent and 50.46 per cent of the candidature respectively. This marks the second consecutive year in which female candidates outnumbered their male counterparts.

The number of candidates attaining a pass grade (D+ and above) rose to 634,082 (63.67%), up from 605,774 (62.76%) in the 2024 KCSE.

However, 1,180 candidates were found to have been involved in examination irregularities, leading to the cancellation of their results.
