Kitui residents beg Ruto to reappoint Penina Malonza

In an impassioned appeal, a section of Kitui residents are urging President William Ruto to reconsider his decision and reinstate Penina Malonza as Cabinet Secretary.

The residents argued that her appointment was a significant win for the Ukambani region, and her close work with the community has earned her deep respect and affection.

“Her appointment was a monumental score for Ukambani,” said one of the residents who addressed the press.

“She worked hand-in-hand with us, earning the endearing nickname ‘Mama Mchele.’ We felt connected to the government through her efforts, and now, we plead with President Ruto to restore her position within the next 24 hours.”She added.

The plea echoes sentiments expressed when other officials, such as Kithure Kindiki, were reinstated.

“We were overjoyed when you appointed her, just as we were when you reinstated Kindiki and others. We implore you to consider reinstating her too,” added another supporter.

Malonza’s supporters emphasized that no leader is perfect, but they appreciate the dedication and effort she has shown.

“Peninah has done her best. As women from Kitui, we are begging President Ruto to honor us with her re-appointment. She was a crucial link to the government, and we need her back to ensure the government’s work continues seamlessly in Kitui,” urged a local advocate.

The community’s plea underscores the strong bond Malonza has forged with her constituents, reflecting their hope that President Ruto will respond favorably to their heartfelt request.
