Governor Mutula launches Eye Surgery Camp at Makueni Referral Hospital

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr Monday launched an eye surgery camp at Makueni Referral Hospital.

Over 300 Makueni residents are to regain their eyesight through surgical interventions. The facilitation is a collaborative effort between the Rotary Clubs of Nairobi and Machakos and the Government of Makueni County.

The initiative was led by Governor Mutula and Rotary Club of Nairobi President Susan Murabana and commenced with a three-day screening and treatment camp targeting individuals with cataracts and various ophthalmic conditions. The event attracted a large turnout of residents seeking eye examinations.

Governor Mutula emphasized his administration’s commitment to investing in state-of-the-art ophthalmic equipment.

This strategic investment aims to address preventable blindness, offering renewed hope to a larger segment of the population. The effort between the government and civic organizations reflects a shared vision for improved eye health and well-being within the community.
