Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly denied claims that he is set to join President William Ruto’s government, dismissing the allegations as propaganda and misinformation.
The speculation arose following the circulation of a video and a purported statement suggesting that Kalonzo was shifting alliances. However, in a strongly worded rebuttal, the former Vice President via his social media page made it clear that his political allegiance remains firm.
“Why are they so panicky? The People’s Loyal Coalition will NEVER be party to the biggest BETRAYAL of Kenyans for political expediency and temporary comfort,” Kalonzo wrote in a statement.
He went further to condemn what he termed as orchestrated disinformation meant to mislead the public.
“NO amount of Propaganda, Fake News, or Disinformation can DERAIL the People’s Loyal Coalition,” he added.
Kalonzo also reaffirmed his commitment to the opposition, insisting that his coalition remains steadfast in defending the interests of the Kenyan people.
“I emphasise unequivocally that as the People’s Loyal Coalition, we will NEVER BETRAY the Kenyan people for temporary comfort,” he stated.
In a sharp critique of the current administration, he declared: “We shall NEVER be part of the Chapati Kleptocracy.”
His remarks come at a time of heightened political maneuvering, with both government and opposition camps strategizing for 2027. The allegations of his defection had sparked debate, with some suggesting that he was positioning himself for a role in Ruto’s administration.
