Bisengo tells off Kasolo Over Public Apology to Mengele

Kamba artist Ambassador Toby Bisengo has strongly criticized fellow musician Stephen Kasolo for involving his wife and child in a public apology to Stella Mengele.

The controversy stemmed from an online feud between Kasolo and Mengele, which resulted in Kasolo’s arrest and detention in remand for 5 days.

In a viral video, Kasolo knelt at the pulpit with his wife, Grace, and daughter Shine, pleading with Mengele for forgiveness and urging her to withdraw a court case against him.

Bisengo took to Facebook to express his disapproval, arguing that Kasolo’s wife and child should not be dragged into the matter.

“Your wife and kids are innocent. ‘Naí ya mwana ndíkakúlw’a Ìthe kana nai ya íthe kùkúlw’a mwana,’ carry your own cross. Apologize alone, from the pulpit to TikTok live. Your advisors are fools,” Bisengo wrote.

However, Kasolo’s wife, Grace Kasolo, defended the decision, stating they acted as a united family.

“Bisengo, this was a decision we made as a family. Anything affecting my husband affects me and the kids, too. Please refrain from mentioning us here. Tuheshimiane kindly,” she commented.

Kasolo’s close ally, Jackson Masekete, also voiced disappointment in Bisengo’s remarks, calling for unity instead of public criticism.

“Leave him alone and feel ashamed. Instead of calling for unity as an ambassador, you’re here to shame him… Mukamba asyaa ‘KENTHI KAIKUNAWA.’ Unite people as a leader kindly,” Masekete commented.
