Yatta MP Robert Basil has been warned against calling President William Ruto names that are disrespectful.
Machakos County Assembly Minority leader and MCA Matuu ward Judas Mbili Ndawa claimed that the disrespect can cause the President not to develop Yatta.
Speaking recently, He noted that the national government has the biggest Budget share and it’s only wise for leaders to respect the ones in authority for their people to benefit.
“We are saying now that elected leaders must be respected, let’s stop nicknaming leaders who have been elected. How can one wake up and call our president Zakayo, let that cease from today,” said Ndawa.
“The national cake is 100 percent and what goes to the counties is 15 percent, I want to ask our MPs from Ukambani we need that balance from the national government to start working in our areas and let’s stop nicknaming our president, we need the developments so let’s respect each other,” he added.
Ndawa went on ahead to shower Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti with praises for working with the government and ensuring that Machakos county is getting something from the national government.
“I want to thank my governor for working hand in hand with the government we have seen her in the US with the president and this shows us that she wants more development for the people,” said the minority leader.
