Police in Yatta Sub-county of Machakos County are investigating a brutal murder involving a 50-year-old man, allegedly killed in a suspected love triangle.
According to authorities, the victim was struck on the head with a hoe handle. The suspect, identified as a 35-year-old man, is currently on the run.
The investigation revealed that the woman at the center of this tragic incident had been romantically involved with both men simultaneously.
On the fateful day, she was escorting the victim when they encountered the suspect, leading to a confrontation that turned deadly.
Police have obtained a confession from the woman, who admitted to dating both men. She detailed how she was walking with the deceased when they ran into the other man. An argument quickly escalated into a violent altercation, culminating in the death of the older man.
“The woman acknowledged dating both men, and on the tragic day, she was escorting the deceased when they met the suspect. A fight ensued, resulting in the death of the middle-aged man,” a police source confirmed.
The victim’s body has been transported to the Daniel Comboni Mission Hospital mortuary as investigations continue. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
