Police in Makueni have launched a manhunt for armed robbers who on Monday night broke into AIC Malivani Boarding primary school in Wote and killed a night guard.
The school head Joshua Mutuse confirmed the incident saying that the thieves were unable to steal anything after failing to break down the door to the head teacher’s office.
He noted that thugs attacked the night guard with pangas thus bleeding to death.
Mutuse added that the teachers staying in the school were also not harmed.
“The incident took place at around 2 am, they slashed the watchman with a panga and attempted to access the head teacher’s office but were unable, after failing they managed to escape, “Mutuse said.
By the time of reporting police had arrived at the school to commence investigations.
The body of the murdered watchman has been moved to Makueni County referral hospital awaiting post motem and burial arrangements.
