Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi has said that the Wiper party wont opt out of the ongoing Azimio rallies.
The MP said all Wiper leaders will be present at the Azimio coalition mega rally in Athi river, Machakos county.
In an interview with a local TV station, Mulyungi said that the Wiper party will stand strong with other parties in the coalition.
Mulyungi criticized the 30 legislators from the Jubilee party that met with President Ruto on Wednesday and pledged to work with him.
“We are aware that there are some lawmakers who went to Statehouse to eat Ugali but you won’t see anyone from Wiper. We cannot go to Statehouse to eat food we are not sure is safe for us,” he said.
The lawmaker disclosed that they would be meeting at Stone Athi to forge a way forward as an Azimio coalition before the rally.
His sentiments come just hours after Mavoko MP Patrick Makau expressed his dissatisfaction about the rallies.
According to Makau, the rallies and demos have no profit to Mwananchi who is waiting for development and it would be wise instead to strike a deal with President William Ruto.
