Wiper leaders turn guns on Ruto after Raila’s AU defeat

A section of Wiper Leaders have now turned guns on President William Ruto after Raila Odinga lost his AU commission chair bid.

Speaking at Full Gospel Church Mwingi where they attended a Sunday service, the leaders also questioned Ruto’s motive to endorse Raila for the AUC chair.

Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi noted that Ruto was more interested in the AU job than Raila himself.

He said that Ruto endorsed and fronted Raila for the job so that he would not cause problems for him in the upcoming general elections. Mulyungi noted that the way Ruto handled Gen Z last year is among the reasons why Raila failed.

“Ruto allowed for Gen Z to be killed and abducted and he thinks the African presidents would allow the position to come to Kenya,” said Mulyungi.

He went on to add that Ruto deploying soldiers to Haiti is also among the reasons Raila failed adding that if it was Kalonzo who was fronted then he would have won.

His sentiments were echoed by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who said that Raila was a good candidate the only problem was his endorser who had already created a bad picture for Kenya.

“Let us agree, the loss for Raila is a bad image for our country. Raila was the most qualified than the other candidates having been a prime minister. And I agree with Gideon that it is Ruto who has lost not Raila,” said Kalonzo.

“SADC team was ready to vote for Raila, but when M23 took over Goma, police officers from SADC lost their lives. When Ruto started in Nairobi River Congo initiative, that is what spoiled the party for Raila. 16 Members of SADC had issues with Ruto, this is what has caused terrible loss to the country,” Kalonzo added.

Kitui senator Enoch Kiio also noted that Ruto had issues with several presidents two weeks before the elections.

“That is now water under the bridge, the most honorable thing to do is for Raila who has fought for Kenya to endorse Kalonzo. If the president played good politics, Raila would have become chairman.” Kiio said.
