A section of Ukambani leaders from the Wiper Party have trashed Governor Alfred Mutua and Kivutha Kibwana’s 2022 presidential bid. Led by Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo, the leaders noted that the two governors are political toddlers out to dim Kalonzo Musyoka’s shining political star.

Muiketikile Kalonzo aaniwe va kati ni andu measya nimeitya upresident nake mundu ndeta umbano Uhuru park. Kivila kya president ko Ki Makueni, vaa ve umwe wenyu ukikitya na Masaku veungi – Do not accept Kalonzos support to be divided by people who want to be president and they cannot even call for a meeting at Uhuru Park. One of them is from Makueni and the other Machakos,” Muthama said.

The former senator observed that the presidential stakes are far too high for the two governors who are political beginners. “There is a big difference between these political beginners and Kalonzo Musyoka who is among Kenya’s top 5 national leaders. It’s a democratic right of every Kenyan to tour any region,” he added.

Maanzo, on the other hand, linked Kibwana to team Tanga Tanga claiming that he is Deputy President William Ruto’s project.

“Our party is Wiper and it is the party through which Governor Kibwana was elected. According to the law if you are quitting a party you have resign. If he does not respect Kalonzo Musyoka let him leave Wiper and if he does not want to leave we will use the law and remove him. ” Maanzo said.

“We want to work with people who do not want to hurt the community. Have you heard someone opposing Uhuru or Raila in their backyard? Mudavadi was here yesterday and he said he has been working with Kalonzo and will continue doing so.”

“The game they are playing with Ruto i know it, there is a time in ODM Kenya when we had 7 candidates and we knew who was ours. This is tanga tanga and we know it,” The Makueni MP added.

Maanzo further alleged Kibwanas rally when he hosted ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi was sponsored by Deputy President William Ruto. “He wanted to get Mudavadi to join their camp but he refused and said that he will stand by Kalonzo.”

The Makueni MP also accused Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua of looting county resources and taking them to Dubai adding that he has failed in his work and ensuring Athi River pollution is stopped.

Last week, Maanzo dismissed Mutua’s presidential bid saying that if he was unable to manage Athi River and stop its pollution, it was impossible for him to manage Kenya.

The two leaders spoke at Mathemba in Makueni at a fundraising ceremony. However , there has been accusations that locals kept off the fundraiser.
