Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has revealed that all County workers in Machakos have received their salaries despite the cash crunch in Counties.
Speaking at the burial of the brother to Machakos County Senator Agnes Kavindu, Wavinya noted that she had sealed all the loopholes in the County that people were using previously to steal money.
Wavinya revealed that the County had so far collected a Billion shillings as revenue which is enabling them to operate despite the delays from the National Government.
“The last time we received money from the National Treasury was in December last year and we have been running on our Revenue. All our workers have been paid and as of two weeks we had collected One Billion,” Wavinya said.
The vocal Governor went on to add that she was going to ensure that money in the County would be used rightfully without people taking advantage and misusing it.
” I will not fear anyone, I was elected by Machakos people to ensure that resources are managed well and that is what I am going to do. No money shall be misused in the County, “Wavinya went on.
On matters of Health, Wavinya noted that as a county they will not be allowing drugs to be transported by KEMSA to hospitals directly rather they would come up with a store to curb the stealing of drugs meant for hospitals.
“I will tell Dr. Yumbya this thing of KEMSA saying that they have taken drugs to Ndithini because I have realized that drugs are not reaching hospitals. We will have a store that they will be stored in and taken to hospitals upon request,” Wavinya went on.
Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Women Representative Joyce Kamene Kasimbi, MCAs, Chief Officers, CECs, and other leaders from County Government attended the burial which was held at Ngonda in Matungulu Sub-county.
