Kamba Rhumba artist Kana Nicko found himself at the center of online controversy after a recent performance at a club in Malili.
In a now-viral video he posted on TikTok, a woman can be seen making her way from the dance floor to the stage where Nicko was performing.
After whispering something to a friend, she reached out and touched the singer’s head only for Nicko to react instantly by pushing her away with a slap.
He captioned the video, “tafadhali kuwa na heshima hapana risk” translated to please have respect, no need to risk.
His quick response has stirred up heated reactions online, with fans split over the incident.
Some supporters believe the woman was innocently trying to request a song or communicate, but Nicko may have misinterpreted her intentions, resulting in her unceremonious fall.
Others think the woman’s approach seemed risky, speculating that her motives might not have been friendly.
Here are some of the reactions about the incident;
Mariz Mwesh wrote, “That woman seemed suspicious, whispering to another lady before approaching the stage. What did she want with Nicko?”
Another user, “@jully74340,” questioned Nicko’s security: “Why don’t you have security? She was able to get too close.”
@sa:aaay added a humorous twist, suggesting, “If she was pulling something, she deserved a heavier push.”
The incident has also raised questions about the safety measures in place for artists.
Some fans advised Nicko to have bodyguards on standby in the future, while others argued he may have acted in the heat of the moment but with good intentions.
Whatever the case, the drama has left fans divided, was it an innocent encounter gone wrong, or did Nicko narrowly escape a risky situation? Only Nicko and his fans can decide.
