Two dead bodies on Tuesday Morning were retrieved from Tana River in Mananja, Masinga sub-county of Machakos County.
The bodies one a male and the other a female had been floating on the river.
Confirming the incident Masinga Subcounty Police Commander Francis Siror said the bodies were seen by locals who reported to the police station.
“The bodies were seen by residents in the morning floating in the river and they called the police to report the incident, ” he said.
According to Siror the body belonging to a man was found put in a sack and has not been identified.
“We have found the body in a sack and we are yet to indentify it” said Siror.
“The other body was a 40-year old woman who was identified as Purity Wangui Ndirangu, ” he added.
The woman is said to have been working with G4S security company along Mombasa Road and on 1st April 2020, a report was made that she got lost.
Investigations on the death of the two have commenced. The bodies were taken to Thika Level 5 Hospital for preservation awaiting postmortem.
