Trouble is brewing between Makueni County Executive and the National Government over a piece of land. The County is building a fire station at the said piece of land at a cost of Sh. 8 Million.

On Thursday armed Police invaded the land. The County Government had not been notified if the piece of land had any issues. The Chief officer in charge of Devolution Julius Musyoka took a swipe at the the County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim.

According to Musyoka, the land belongs to the County Government and not the National Government. He asked President Uhuru Kenyatta, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and the DCI to investigate Maalim. He termed him as an obstruction to development in the County.

“Our President Uhuru Kenyatta, DCIO Kinoti and Matian’gi, we request them to investigate this County Commissioner of Makueni as he is not in tandem with how Government should be working. If the County Government is doing a project to help locals and here is here to serve the same locals.” Musyoka said.

“If he has a problem with the project, he should go to the Governor or write us a letter but not sending us armed police here to say he is the one who has decided. We ask the people of Makueni to be ready as we have realized Uhuru has not given us a good leader.” he added.

According to a source close to the County Commissioner, the said piece of land is disputed. They added that there was a complain as far as the piece of land was concerned. The County Commissioner was not available for comment as he was out of the County.
