Thieves Break Into Sultan Hamud Church, Steal property worth 270,000


Police in Sultan Hamud, Makueni county have begun investigations after robbers broke into Hope restoration church international and made away with property worth sh.273,000.

The Monday night incident was confirmed by the church’s pastor Zablon Mutinda who said that the thieves cut through the wall and gain entry.
He noted that some of the items stolen include Microphones, amplifiers, keyboards, and other equipment.

“I was in church yesterday and left at around noon and went home. Today when I woke up I found thieves had broken into the church. They had cut the iron sheets and stole church equipment totaling sh.270,000,” said the pastor.

The man of the cloth stated that the theft is a setback for the church and urged members of the public with any information that may lead to the arrest of the thieves to collaborate with the police.

“I would like to urge anyone with information to volunteer and notify me or the police so that we can get our things back,” he said.

It’s not clear how many people participated in the theft but no single person has been arrested in connection with the break-in. Police are scouring every nook and cranny in search of the suspects to ensure they are brought to justice.
