Tears as Peter, Candidate who drowned 3 days before KCPE buried in Mwala

14-year-old Peter Mwangangi Musau who was a KCPE candidate at Comejuu Premier Academy Githunguri was Saturday 3rd December laid to rest at their Maweli home, Mwala in an emotional send-off.

Peter and his classmate Russel Mihingo drowned at Theta dam, Kiambu during a school trip. His family described the death as a big blow.

Speaking to the media, the mother Esther Wangui said Peter was his secondborn and was very jovial.

“He was my second born, always full of laughter. I really loved him and he loved me as well. It is not easy, ‘My Peter, Peter my Guy’, May you rest in peace.” Peter’s mother said as she held back tears.

“Peter ameenda, he was like a father and a son to me. Sa hii nimebaki bila baba yangu, naomba mungu amueke mahali pema peponi.” Peter’s father Dominic Musau said in his short speech as he sobbed.

During Russel Mihingo’s burial at his parents’ home in Ithanga, Murang’a County, on Friday, December 2, mourners could hardly come to terms with his demise. The family said he had a bright future and dreamt of being an excellent soccer star and an engineer.
