Students of Mumbuni boys in Machakos county have been sent home after causing ruckus on Friday night (6th September).
The school administration made the decision to send the learners home after a meeting today.
The boys threw stones and broke window panes during the unrest Friday evening.
Machakos Agriculture CEC Catherine Mutanu rushed to the school on Friday night and confirmed that the situation had been handled and calm restored.
She however trashed claims that fire had broken out in the school.
“I’m here to confirm that there was no fire, some boys had started hurling stones and broken windows. There was no fire the boys are calm and in the dorm,” she said.
The CECM noted that some boys were missing after a roll call was conducted.
Two boys also sustained minor injuries during the ruckus. Police officers were forced to sleep in the school to restore calm.
After the release of the 2023 KCSE Results, here is how some of the top schools in Machakos County performed.
Kathiani Girls had 305 candidates and a mean of 8.49. 1 Student scored A constant, 8 A minus, 47 B plus, 105 B constant, 80 B minus, 41 C plus, 17 C constant, and 3 C minus.
Caring Hearts Matungulu had a mean of 8.42. 2 Students scored A minus, 12 B plus, 10 B constant, 16 B minus, 7 C plus, 4 C Constan, and 1 C minus.
Matungulu Girls has a mean score of 8.15 and 253 candidates. 2 candidates had A constant, 10 A minus, 34 B plus, 64 B constant, 60 B minus, 45 C plus, 29 C constant, 8 C minu and 1 D plus.
Lukenya schools had a mean of 8.06 and 102 candidates. 1 scored A minus, 14 B plus, 22 B constant, 28 B minus, 29 C plus, 6 C constant and 1 C minus.
Machakos Girls recorded a mean of 7.6. 9 Students scored A minus,23 B plus, 49 B constant, 81 B minus, 57 C plus, 55 C constant, 18 C minus, and 4 D plus.

Carmel Girls Mwala had a mean of 7.5 and 129 candidates. 4 Students scored A minus,11 B plus, 23 B constant, 29 B minus, 20 C plus, 23 C constant, 17 C minus, and 2 D plus.
Machakos School had a mean of 7.431 and 420 candidates. 6 students scored A constant, 23 A minus, 38 B plus, 70 B constant, 76 B minus, 68 C plus, 51 C constant, 54 C minus, 25 D plus, 8 D constant, and 1 D minus.
St. Francis Misyani Girls had a mean of 7.3 and 190 candidates. 1 candidate scored A minus,10 B plus, 26 B constant, 37 B minus,58 C plus, 48 C constant, 9 C minus and 1 D plus.
St. Michael Kabaa High School had a mean of 7.247. 1 student had A constant, 2 A minus, 16 B plus, 31 B constant, 51 B minus, 60 C plus, 49 C constant, 28 C minus, 2 D plus and 1 D minus.
Mumbuni Boys High School had 377 candidates and a mean of 6.8. 204 candidates scored C plus and above. 7 students A minus, 21 B plus, 38 B plains, 75 B minus, 63 C plus, 64 C plain, 69 C minus, 29 D plus, 10 D plain, and 1 D minus.

After Cabinet Secretary of Education, Professor George Magoha released the results of KCSE 2020 today (10th May), Mauvoo News has established that the majority of schools in Machakos county have recorded improvements.
Machakos Boys with 313 candidates had a mean of 8.7051 an improvement of 0.08 from 8.62 in KCSE 2019.
Kathiani Girls in Kathiani Subcounty and which is a National School improved from a mean grade of 6.6 in 2019 to a mean grade of 8.1 in 2020. 150 students out of the total 175 students getting a mark to be admitted to University.
Lukenya boys high school with 126 students had a mean score of 7.96.
St. Francis Misyani Girls in Kangundo sub-county was not left behind with a mean of 7.927 and a candidature of 123 students.
Kitondo school improved from a mean of 7.45 in KCSE 2019 to a 7.6 in KCSE 2020 with 148 candidates and more than 100 meeting the university pass mark.
Mumbuni boys had 7 A-, B+30, B- 52, B-35, C+ 53, C-65,C-20, D+ 11, D-3, and D-2. The 278 candidates had a mean score of 7.34 an improvement of 0.775 from KCSE 2019.
Matungulu girls in Matungulu sub-county followed closely with a mean grade of 7.3 where 99 students out of 142 got a C plus and above.
St. Joseph Masinga Girls had a mean of 6.90 an improvement of 0.817. The school had 150 candidates.
Lukenya Girls had a mean score of 6.8 with 49 candidates.
