Alfred Mutua has served the as first Machakos County Governor since 2013. He was elected to this position that heads the executive arm of the Machakos County Government in two terms. In 2013, The Governor was elected on a Wiper Democratic Party ticket with Bernard Kiala as his Deputy Governor. Later in 2017 Mutua was elected on a Maendeleo Chap Chap Party ticket. Francis Maliti became Mutua’s new Deputy Governor.
Mutua was born on 22nd August 1970. His middle name is Nganga. He married Lilian Wambui Ng’ang’a after he divorced his first wife Josephine Thitu. He holds a Ph.D. from Western Sidney University.
The politician who is also the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader has declared interest to be elected President of the Republic of Kenya. The Governor intends to contest the Presidency at the 2022 general elections.
