Several people were on Tuesday (1oth Jan) rushed to Ikanga dispensary for treatment after being attacked by bees.
The lot was attacked by the bees at Kasambuya River in Kathunga, Kitui county near Ikanga Boys High School.
Among those attacked were Boda Boda operators and locals who were on foot.
An eyewitness told Mauvoo News that some of those who had been attacked received treatment and got discharged.
“I’m a Boda Boda operator and was ferrying a customer and on approaching Ikanga High School I saw a stalled tractor and on stopping, I saw motorbikes lying on the road. Before I could know bees from nowhere attacked me and the child I was carrying,” said the witness.
“I was forced to leave my bike and run to safety together with the kid then to the health center for treatment. I used everything I had worked for the whole day,” he added.
He noted that the origin of the bees is still a mystery.
