Stop using State institutions and Civil Servants to do politics – Speaker Muturi

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has decried the use of civil servants to do politics and popularise certain candidates. Speaking at the launch of Wote Green Park Thursday, Muturi said the Civil Servants should be focused on service delivery to the people.

“Please don’t weaponize public institutions for political reasons. Let Civil servants do the work they were appointed to do. The moment we use civil servants to do politics from our experience and these ladies and gentlemen will tell you, the public loses the most.”He said.

“As you use the civil servants to do politics, even when they start diverting resources you can not ask them. You use them for wrong reasons and they also misuse public resources.” Muturi added

The National Assembly Speaker further asked all presidential candidates to be given a level playing field and come to seek the mandate from Kenyans.

“No one is prevented from seeking public office but don’t use civil servants to drum up support for certain candidates. Like today we have civil servants at a certain hotel. Who is paying? Let even OKA come to the field, Kenyans will decide.” Muturi went on.

The speaker was accompanied by Mukhisa Kituyi and NARC Kenya’s party leader Martha Karua. The team that was hosted by Governor Kibwana announced a new coalition.
