UDA Machakos Senatorial aspirant in the March 2021 By-election Urbanus Muthama Ngengele has asked Wiper leaders to allow Kalonzo to negotiate with people who can win the presidency in 2022.
Speaking to Mauvoo News, Ngengele called on the leaders to allow Kalonzo to negotiate rather than limiting him with the One Kenya Alliance (OKA).
“I want to commend Senator Enoch Wambua, Daniel Maanzo as well as other wiper leaders for standing firm with Kalonzo Musyoka and refusing to be swayed into supporting Raila Odinga, but also I would like to ask them not to limit the Wiper leader to OKA,” Ngengele said.
” Kalonzo needs to be able to form alliances with someone who is likely to win, and if he is in OKA where there are more than two presidential Candidates it will be limiting him. So he should be let free to negotiate with others outside OKA,” he added.
On Wednesday, a section of elected Wiper leaders led by Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua warned Kalonzo against deputizing anyone especially Raila Odinga for the third time.
“Today we must put to rest wild speculations that our party leader Kalonzo Musyoka would consider deputizing former prime minister Raila Odinga in the 2022 presidential contest. These speculations have no basis and it is not one of the options we are even thinking about,” the leaders said.
“Should our Party Leader ever make the decision to support The Rt. Hon Raila Amolo Odinga for the presidency, we respectfully assure him of two very painful outcomes: He will walk that journey alone, The Kamba nation and the millions of his supporters across the country will NEVER forgive him.” Kitui Senator added.
