Speaker Florence Mwangangi message to MCAs and Kenyans after beating Covid

Close to a month after testing positive for Covid-19, Machakos County Speaker Florence Mwangangi has finally beat Covid and resumed duty at Machakos County Assembly.

The speaker in her remarks urged MCAs and members of the public to keep adhering to guidelines by the ministry of health such as handwashing, Keeping a social distance, and wearing masks.

“Continue doing it. I may have overcome but you don’t know what state your body is in. As you do it, Please also talk to your electorate, they look to you for guidance, please set a good example for them.” the Speaker urged MCAs.

“Honourable members, I am asking that now we have the second wave in Kenya and in the whole world which is serious. Those who are doubting can now see it is a reality. Members I want to remind ourself of regulations that we agreed we follow. Let us wear our masks and not only wearing them but wearing them properly. Let us continue washing our hands and using sanitizers.” Speaker Florence Mwangangi urged MCA.

The speaker informed members that she will be also undergoing screening while entering the County Assembly premises.

“Allow the screening to be done to each one of us, I will lead you from the front by being screened. There is a liaison committee on health and safety headed by Hon. Mutiso and will assist you.” She added.

Speaker Florence Mwangangi urged members to open up when they have symptoms so that they help fight stigma and set a good example to the community and society.
