Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi publicly endorsed Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s bid for a second term, dismissing Mavoko MP Patrick Makau’s chances in the 2027 gubernatorial race.
Speaking in Mbee, Kathiani sub-county, Mwangangi urged Machakos residents to reject Makau’s bid stating that the seat was not a family affair to replace Wavinya with Makau.
He also trashed claims that Wavinya agreed to step down for Makau in 2027.
“Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s performance speaks for itself, and there’s no agreement for her to step aside after one term,” Mwangangi stated.
“Let those opposing her work let her focus on the people. Our team will push forward, regardless of who tries to stand in our way.” He added.
Mwangangi’s comments were seconded by Kathiani Central MCA Dominic Ndambuki, as well as Upper and Lower Kaewa MCAs Vincent Mutie and Benjamin Kinyungu.
They expressed unwavering support for Ndeti’s administration, pledging to work closely with her office to actualize her ambitious development agenda for Machakos.
