A cloud of grief has engulfed the residents of Joska in the Matungulu subcounty of Machakos County after a preacher at Neno Evangelism Centre Joska commited suicide by hanging himself in the church.
Confirming the incident Nyumba Kumi Chairperson Veronica Majimbo said that the man who was a preacher in the church was with his wife in the morning and he took his kids to school and came back home .
“We have been met with shocking news today where a pastor committed suicide by hanging himself in the church. It is sad as he was with his wife in the morning and took his kids to school and then he went to church to commit suicide,” said Veronica.
She went on to note that people should not wait until things pile up before seeking counseling to avoid such issues.
“If anyone has a problem let them go directly to the right sources and seek help before things escalate. Today a pastor who is supposed to give guidance to people with mental issues has hanged himself which is not a good thing,” Veronica noted.
The body was taken to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital as sleuths launched investigations into the matter.
