Detectives in Machakos County have launched a probe over the death of a Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) Commander in Kalama Subcounty.
Confirming the incident Machakos County Commissioner Fredrick Ndunga said that the deceased was the CIPU commander in Kalama Subcounty and he was found dead today in his house by his neighbor who reported the case to the police.
“He was Kalama sub-county CIPU commander and he was found in his house dead by his neighbor and police officers took his body to Montezuma Funeral Home as investigations commence,” said the County Commissioner.
According to a police report seen by Mauvoo News the deceased who was identified as Stephen Kitonga Karimi aged 48 years had earlier complained of chest pains before he was found dead.
“Death of a Senior Police officer C. I Stephen Kitonga Karimi aged 48 years, the officer in charge CIPU Kalama Subcounty was found dead at his rental house. He had complained of a chest problem. The deceased was found lying on the bed on his back,” read the report.
The Body of the commander has been moved to Montezuma Monalisa Funeral home for preservation as it awaits postmortem to determine the cause of death.
