Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has asked DCI Boss George Kinoti to ensure everyone in the Deputy President’s office starting with DP Ruto himself to record a statement on what they know about the death of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei.

Speaking in Kangundo Friday, Mutua noted that assassinations in Kenya never seem to catch the culprits involved. This he says has created a culture of impunity.

“As leaders let us not be afraid of speaking for our children our people like Kenei who was murdered because of corruption. Naunga mkono wale wanasema uchunguzi ufanywe.”

“Hio ofisi usiogope mtu yeyote kutoka DP Ruto mpaka yule anaosha chini, wote waende pale waandikishe statement waseme kile wanachojua kuhusu kenei. Hakuna mtu hapa atakuwa anaandika vitu kwa internet. Kila Mtu aulizwe swali.”

Mutua also asked the DCI to ensure that DP Ruto states why he threatened him. In December 2019, Mutua alleged that Deputy President William Ruto threatened him during the statehouse banquet in honor of Barbados Prime Minister Hon. Mia Motley on the 11th of December 2019.

“In Kenya we have had many people who were killed and police say they will leave no stone unturned. Many people have died and that has been the song. When they die they don’t come back. We must tell people that murder is unacceptable and it does not matter who you are. Murder is murder, you must go to be sentenced at Kamiti.” Mutua added.

In February, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu took on DP Ruto heads on over the 39 billion scandal at the DP’s office. The Governor urged Ruto to step aside for investigations to be carried out in an impartial environment. Matungulu MP Stephen Mutinda Mule threatened to impeach Ruto over the scandal.
