Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka has claimed that the Rally held by DP Ruto in Tala Machakos county left the Deputy President embarrassed.
Munyaka who attended the rally claimed that there was resistance by the people following Mutua’s administration’s failure, especially on matters health.
Several videos have since emerged of people walking out of the rally when Governor Mutua and DP Ruto were addressing the crowds.
“I feel sorry for Governor Mutua. In Tala, when he was speaking people looked like they were refusing. Even DP Ruto felt ashamed. People are going to hospitals and are being told there are no drugs.” Munyaka said.
“When you go to the towns and markets you find garbage is everywhere. I felt sorry for him but because it’s just 2 months left and he has come close to UDA, let him look at the money that has been stolen here in the county. It is so much.”Munyaka added.
Speaking at his constituency, Munyaka also praised his development record saying he had done more than the county Government in Machakos constituency despite having less resources.
Caleb Mutiso Mule of Maendeleo Chap chap is among those trying to unseat Munyaka. This has been complicated after Chap chap joined Kenya Kwanza. Other aspirants include Deputy Speaker Paul Museku of Wiper, Job Nyumu Solomon of CCU among others.
Munyaka’s remarks were shared by UDA Chair Johnson Muthama who said that he skipped the rally as he cannot share a podium with Governor Mutua. According to Muthama, Mutua must apologize for the loss of resources in Machakos county in the last 9 years and failure to honor his promises.
