Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has asked the Wiper brigade joining Azimio to respect the three Ukambani governors as they are veterans in Azimio.

Speaking in Matuu during a rally attended by the 3 Governors and other leaders allied to them, Kibwana said that they don’t have an issue with Wiper joining Azimio la Umoja movement as long as they accord them the respect they deserve.

Let them come with respect,” said Kibwana.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka Friday announced forming a coalition with ODM and Jubilee party called Azimio-One Kenya Alliance. He said that the decision was arrived at after thorough consultations among principals of OKA. Kalonzo stated that on 28th February the concerned parties will formally sign the agreement.

The Makueni Governor also promised that if Raila is elected he will pay special focus on empowering the youth and providing jobs. Giving an example of Boda boda operators who will be helped to acquire licenses and buy motorbikes if Raila wins.

“If someone comes here and just says bottom-up, youth, Mama Mboga and Boda Boda… When someone says something like this, please ask him what it is and scrutinize it and how it can help you. ” He went on.

Kibwana also took a swipe at William Ruto for saying Raila was a government project narrating how he was detained for years while fighting for the second liberation. He asked the Kamba community not to give up on supporting Raila as he was the closest to the presidency.

“When he was in jail, Ruto was in Youth for KANU and hurting people. This person has for long been fighting for this country. He has been prime minister and did a lot with Kibaki and Uhuru as Deputy Prime minister. Can he be a project? He said Kibaki Tosha and later worked with Uhuru through the handshake to bring peace and development. He cant be a project. 2002 when Ruto and Uhuru were helped by Moi he didn’t say they were projects. It’s good for people to speak the truth.” The Governor added.

Kibwana was accompanied by his Machakos and Kitui counterparts Charity Ngilu and Dr. Alfred Mutua among other leaders allied to Azimio La Umoja.
