Wiper Senatorial candidate in the Machakos By-election Agnes Kavindu has asked Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua to respect her ex-husband Johnson Muthama.
“I heard him saying that I should not be insulted I have been persecuted by Muthama. Mutua, leave my family. Your family also defeated you. Let us respect each other.” Kavindu told off Mutua.
Speaking in Tala Friday, Mutua asked locals to chase any leader who insults Kavindu during the campaign trail saying she had to endure Muthama who was also “bothered” him in the county during his first term. According to Mutua Kavindu endured a lot when she was married to the ex-senator. Mutua went on to blame the ex-senator and Wiper party for scaring investors in Machakos.
Kavindu who was speaking in Machakos town further took a swipe at Mutua for threatening county employees who support her in the coming by-election.
“When you keep telling your county employees if they vote for me you will fire them, if you fire them when I become senator you will face it rough. Our constitution gives everyone a right to vote for whoever they want. Mutua I respect you but also respect your employees. They are not yours they are for the county.” Kavindu said.
“If you give me the seat I will not be coming here to fight, i will work with Governor Mutua but if he brings issues, i will be very tough and he will sayy Muthama was better,” she added.
Wavinya who had also accompanied Kavindu said that Mutua should know the majority of MCAs in Machakos are from Wiper and if he goes on he will be impeached.
