Kenya’s top student in KCPE 2020, Faith Kawee Mumo can now breathe a sigh of relief. This is after Matungulu CDF came through to help her in paying her school fees.
Area MP Stephen Mutinda Mule gave a cheque of 120,000 to Kenya High School where the girl had been called to join.
Mule went on to say that Matungulu CDF was going to cater for the entire fees of Faith in her secondary school studies and ensure that she was going to study without any disruptions.
“Today I have handed over a cheque of 120,000 to Faith Mumo Kawee who was the top student in Kenya and happens to come from our area and we will ensure that she does not get disturbed in school. I have spoken to Kenya High School and we have agreed that Faith will stay in school.” Matungulu MP Stephen Mule said.
Faith who could not hide her joy after receiving the cheque said that her dream to become a neurosurgeon which had faced a bump was back on the radar after the CDF paid her school fees.
“I take this opportunity to thank Matungulu CDF with the help of Matungulu MP Stephen Mutinda Mule, I want to promise that am going to work hard when I go back to school and I will ensure that when I achieve my dreams I will give back to the community and ensure that kids like me get this opportunity,” she said.
Faith Mumo Kawee had been announced the top student nationwide during KCPE 2020 results announcement that saw her score 433 marks.
Faith’s parents had raised an appeal to well-wishers to help them pay their daughter’s fees as they had no money to take their daughter to Kenya High school.
