Residents of Kangundo can now breathe a sigh of relief after Machakos county through the Department of Health and emergency services delivered a new clinic of its kind known as Container Clinic at Ngulini area in Kangundo sub-county.

This being the first of its kind in the county, Ngulini people have something to smile about as they will be having their health checked up nearby rather than going to Kangundo.

Speaking during the opening of Container Clinic now known as Ngulini Dispensary, Machakos County Health CECM Dr. Ancent Kituku said that this is more efficient and easier to access for the people of Kangundo East and Central ward who entirely depended on Kangundo level 4 hospital for treatment and medical checkup.

“This clinic contains all the necessary equipment as needed in a dispensary and instead of people from this area and neighbouring areas going to Kangundo to get treatment for minor problems they will be able to get medical access through this as we are aiming in making sure that everyone gets access to medical facilities, ” said the Health CECM.

Kangundo Central Member of County Assembly Moses Mitaa could not hide his joy as he said that this will enable his community to grow and also bring more developments to the area saying that with the clinic being there electricity would now be available to everyone.

“With this clinic being here, electricity will be available for everyone as a hospital can’t run without electricity so this will help us not only in health but also grow us as a community,” he said.

Most of the residents were happy for the new dispensary saying that they will now avoid the long queues in Kangundo level 4 Hospital due to lots of people attending the facility to seek treatment.
