The postmortem of the bodies of 2 protestors who died in last week’s demos in Kibwezi namely Alex Muteti and Dennis Lubanga has revealed the cause of their deaths.
According to the report, the 2 died from excessive bleeding resulting from gunshot wounds.
Grace Midigo the pathologist who led the postmortem exercise at Makindu Funeral Home noted that had the 2 received quick assistance after being shot they might not have died.
Benard Mutunga, Alex Muteti’s family spokesman said that as a family they were saddened by the death revealing they had plans to take him to college towards the end of the year. They pleaded with Civil society and the government to help them get justice.
“He was shot by a bullet that entered through his back and left the body through the abdomen. The report says there was a lot of bleeding due to some injury to the vessels and the back. That is what caused Alex Muteti’s death.”Benard said.
“Alex was obedient and calm. He was working in Kibwezi and helping his grandmother to sell vegetables at their stall, we had a plan for him to go to college end of this year or early next year. It is painful, it is saddening. We feel bad as a family. We ask the government to support us in getting justice as we follow the legal process.” He went on.
