In a move that has set political circles abuzz, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau posted a cryptic message just minutes after Machakos County Health CEC Dr. Daniel Yumbya announced his resignation.
Taking to Facebook, Makau said, “When a clown moves into a palace, she doesn’t become a queen. The palace becomes a circus,” leaving many to speculate on its meaning.
The timing of the post suggests it was a direct reaction to Yumbya’s sudden departure, sparking debates about the true state of Machakos County’s leadership.
Dr. Daniel Yumbya, an ally of Governor Wavinya Ndeti, tendered his resignation without specifying his reasons, leading to widespread speculation.
In his resignation letter, Yumbya thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve but did not elaborate on his departure, fueling rumors that he might have another job opportunity lined up or he had unreconcilable differences with the governor.
Makau’s message has added another layer to the unfolding drama. Known for his outspoken criticism of the county’s administration, his statement is seen as a thinly veiled critique of Governor Ndeti’s leadership.
This has intensified discussions about the effectiveness and transparency of the county’s governance.
