2 male students from Nguluni Countryside School in Nguluni were involved in a road accident Thursday morning where one succumbed while receiving treatment at Kangundo Level 4 Hospital.
The duo was going home for their midterm break when the accident occurred.
The driver who caused the accident speaking to the press said that he was going to Tala Girls High School to pick up a student when the accident happened. He revealed that a vehicle that was coming towards him overtook forcing him to step off the road and his tire burst making the vehicle lose balance
“I was going to Tala Girls to pick a student from school when I saw a vehicle overtaking from the side and I came off the road to allow it to pass only for my tire to burst. This made me hit the children as my vehicle lost balance,” the driver narrated.
In the same sub-county, 7 students from Muindi Mbingu school were involved in a road accident at Masokani area, Koma-Kenol road where 3 who were seriously injured were taken to Kangundo level 4 hospital for treatment while the rest were rushed to Mitaboni to get treated.
The two vehicles have been towed and taken to KBC-Malaa Police Station while police launched investigations.
