One dead in a grisly road accident in Kapiti area

One person died following a tragic road accident Monday morning at Kapiti area along Nairobi-Mombasa highway with several others left injured.

The accident involved three vehicles where two of the vehicles burst into flames after the accident. The three vehicles included a Toyota Fielder, Toyota Hilux, and a probox.

The Toyota Hilux occupants told Mauvoo News that they were on their journey traveling to Limuru for a funeral. According to eyewitnesses, two of the vehicles burst into flames after the collision.

The accident was confirmed by Athiriver Police Station OCPD, George Kashimiri saying that one person died in the burning vehicle.

The body of the deceased was taken to Machakos Level 5 Mortuary as the vehicles were towed to Kyumvi Police Station.

Those involved in the accident and sustained serious injuries were rushed to Machakos Level 5 Hospital, where they are currently admitted receiving treatment.

Drivers and all those traveling were asked to be careful and observe all the laws, especially during the rainy season when visibility is reduced and the roads get slippery.
