No Ukambani leader can win the 2022 presidential race – Muthama

Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has said that no leader is fit to run for presidency come 2022 in Ukambani Region.

In an interview with a local Kamba TV station Sunday, Muthama said that among the few leaders who have declared interest in the presidency come 2022 none of them was fit to lead the country saying that all Kamba community needs is to join hands and speak in one voice.

“As a Kamba community we are not ready for the higher leadership, we should team up as a Kamba community and identify one of the top leaders we align with them maybe we can get a deputy president but not a president, ” he said.

Muthama noted that Deputy President William Ruto was way much ahead in succeeding president Uhuru Kenyatta and thus the Kamba community needed to ensure they are reading on the same page.

“Everywhere I have gone the hustler narrative is catching up with the majority of the people and there is no Kamba leader who can drum up support from the entire nation like Ruto,” he said.

Leaders who have declared interest from Ukambani to run for the presidency include Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua, and Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana.
