Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has said the Kamba community will not support the BBI report if the proposal to include Mwingi county in the report is not considered.

Speaking at a local radio show, Muthama said the people of Ukambani need to stand firm revealing that in Nyeri people have vowed to reject the report becuase they have not been considered for the new constituencies.

“In Nyeri, senator Ephraim Maina has said no new constituency no BBI. In Nyandarua, the same is the case as is in Tana River and Lamu. Here in Ukambani let us also not vote unless we sit with these people and tell them what we want. “

“Without Mwingi county, No BBI! Even if it is only me who is opposing i will go in history as the person who spoke for the people of Mwingi. ” He added.

Muthama urged the People of Machakos and Makueni to stand in solidarity with the people of Mwingi even if they are receiving new constituencies noting that new constituencies would earn them 400 million a year but a new Mwingi county can get 8 billion in a year.

The former senator said the people of Kenya had power over Raila and that the BBI referendum will not be vowing to use other means to stop the referendum from taking place decrying Kenya was now for two people Uhuru and Raila.

“Where is their power? Who is the government? The government is held by the president and the Deputy. I am on the side of the deputy.” The former senator said.

Muthama has been critical of the BBI and in september vowed to lead the faction opposing BBI saying that the Building Bridges Initiative is meant to create positions for some individuals in the country but not uniting Kenyans.
