Kitui County Minister for Environment, Tourism, and Natural Resources Patrick Koki Musau alias Kuvasila faced the wrath of mourners during the burial of Nancy Musyoka, the expectant woman who died after failing to get oxygen at Kitui level 4 hospital last week.
After greeting the mourners and presenting his condolences, when he said that he is also presenting the Governor’s condolences the mourners broke up in shouts and screams forcing him to slow down on his speech.
The CECM made fun of the shouting saying the crowd was in love with the Governor but the heckling still went on.
Kuvasila mourned Nancy as a disciplined person who was dedicated to her work at Kitui county from when the county employed her more than 2 years ago.
“The Governor was unwell but God has helped her she is now out of the hospital…I have known Nancy for more than 2 years and whatever was said by the speakers and in the eulogy is true…We can only release her to rest in peace.” Kuvasila said.
He further took a swipe at politicians he accused of politicizing the burial of Nancy Musyoka and warned the locals that Covid-19 was real and that they should adhere to directives by the ministry of health.
The CECM’s microphone kept going off as he delivered his speech and the crowd cheered.
Other leaders present at the Burial included Former Governor Julius Malombe, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai ho also decried the state of healthcare in Kitui county and the lack of an ICU facility which is critical especially for patients with breathing difficulties.
In June 2021, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua said that the healthcare in Kitui county was in ICU and said he was thinking of whether the department can be reverted to the National Government.
