Ngilu to work With Senator Musila to deliver Kitui Governor seat to Azimio, Reveals Their Next Move

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has revealed that she will campaign with Former Kitui Senator David Musila to consolidate Azimio la Umoja votes In Kitui.

Ngilu further confirmed that she might step down for Musila and support him to vie for Kitui Governor and focus on the top position that will be promised by Raila Odinga’s Azimio Government.

Ngilu stated that they will unite to see that Wiper candidate Julius Malombe and UDA candidate Jonathan Mueke don’t get any support from the people and so they will garner more votes for Raila Odinga in Kitui.

“We will talk to do our campaigns together and when one of us emerges as the best candidate they will support the other. United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and Wiper Party are our competitors since Wiper has said they are not part of Azimio and that’s why I and Musila must continuously consult, we first want to ensure that Raila wins the national seat and we are not enemies,” Ngilu said.

Musila stated that they have never been enemies and they are good because at one point in 1992 Ngilu’s daughter went to stay with his family and thus they have a history together.

“It is not surprising that I’m here with my able competitor and current Governor, we are Azimio candidates and we will respect one another in our campaigns and also campaign for the presidential candidate of Azimio who is Raila Odinga and since we are the only two Azimio candidates in Kitui, that suggests we must be friendly,” Musila said.

Musila requested Ngilu to step down for him, stating that Ngilu cannot seat in both National Government and as Governor. Ngilu agreed that it is true that she will support Musila. Ngilu revealed that she will be having a cup of tea with Musila to negotiate how they will support each other since Ngilu can’t support the other two candidates who are not in Azimio.

The two also criticized the Wiper Party for refusing to take the Chief Cabinet Minister seat given in Azimio stating that Kalonzo was for his interest and not for the Kamba community’s interests.
