Barely a week after 41 staff from the National Government tested positive for Covid-19, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu was Friday (21st August) tested for Covid-19.

Ngilu cautioned Kitui Residents against ignorance on the presence of the killer Virus in Kitui County asking them to strictly adhere to Government directives such as keeping social distance, hand washing and wearing masks.

Kitui County last week recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases in a day since the first case was announced in the Country in March. Confirming the cases then, Chief officer Health and sanitation, Dr. Richard Muthoka revealed the recorded number was a result of the measures they took to test health workers, Kitui County Government officers and staff from Kitui main prison, KEFRI and the Courts in Mwingi and Kitui.

Ngilu while speaking after testing urged residents to avoid unnecessary visits to county offices following the confirmation of positive cases amongst county and National Government officers.
