Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has come out guns blazing to condemn what she termed as insults hurled at Mama Ngina Kenyatta by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Emurua Dikirr’s Johanna Ng’eno.

Speaking at Kalundu after launching the expansion of Ginnary-Kaveta road, Ngilu said that it is uncouth and unethical for leaders allied to the Deputy President who wants to become the next president to be heard hurling insults at women and especially the mother of the President.

She asked leaders to give respect to women all over the country and globally where she now wants the deputy president and his allies to ask for forgiveness from all women in the country and stop politicking and rather support the president in delivering to Kenyans.

“Somebody calls himself a leader and when he stands to address people he hurls insults at a woman leader, the founding mother of the nation and that person says that he is campaigning for the deputy president to be the president 2022. I want to ask if you go seeking for votes for somebody like Ruto to be the president of Kenya and you are insulting the mother of President Uhuru, the first lady of our country, is your head sober or are you insane, ” she questioned.

“If you want to be the president of Kenya how can you insult a woman and the mother to our president, let him go he has no manners. As a woman leader I say that you should apologize to all women and respect them and more so Mama Ngina, ” She added.

Different women leaders have come out and condemned Oscar Sudi’s remarks about Mama Ngina where most of them have asked for him to ask for forgiveness from women in the country.

The Kapseret MP presented himself to the police Sunday morning and he was flown to Nairobi accompanied by his lawyers.

In February 2020, the Kitui Governor took on Deputy President William Ruto guns blazing over 39 billion military equipment saga allegedly orchestrated by former Sports CS Rashid Echesa. The deal was said to have been signed at Harambee house annex – Office of the Deputy President before detectives moved in and arrested Echesa.

“I am shocked by the revelations that seemingly fraudulent activities of high magnitude can be hatched and planned in the office of the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya.” A statement by the Kitui Governor then read.
