Ngilu makes first Public Appearance after Elections, here’s what she has been doing

Former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has for the first time after the August General elections appeared in public.

Before the elections, Ngilu declared that she won’t be defending her seat in the last general elections and pledged full support for Azimio leader Raila Odinga. After Azimio lost, she has been missing in action since then.

Many people have been questioning her absence and silence since then because she was an active social media user who was one of the top critics of President William Ruto.

In November 2021, Ngilu said that she is forced to switch off her TV whenever Ruto appears. Missed that story? check it out below;

On Friday, December 2nd, she was spotted with Kitui Governor Julius Malombe at a function in Nairobi. The duo was attending an autobiography launch of Titus Mbathi in Gigiri.

Ngilu and Malombe shared light moments during the launch of the My life’s Journey book from Mbathi who served as Kitui Central MP at one time. Titus Mbathi was among Kenya’s pioneer technocrats at independence who also served as a Principal Secretary and later a Cabinet Minister for Labour in Moi’s government.

Sources close to ex-Governor Ngilu told Mauvoo News that she has since decided to concentrate on her businesses, especially in the media industry where she owns two vernacular radio stations.

“Nowadays she is concentrating on her businesses since she had been rooted in politics but now she is free. The workers are very happy especially that she engages them day in and day out because she doesn’t have a very busy schedule,” the source told Mauvoo News.

Ngilu has her own office in Westlands, Nairobi where she manages her businesses from. She is also said to own buildings and other properties.
