Ngilu hints at ‘Kalonzo Tosha’ endorsement by Raila in 2027

Former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has alluded to a ‘Kalonzo Tosha’ endorsement by ODM Leader Raila Odinga ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of Agnetta Peter, Former Kitui Education Chief Officer, in Mumoni ward in Mwingi North Constituency, Ngilu revealed that she is ready to persuade Raila Odinga to back Kalonzo in 2027 only if Kalonzo is serious about running for the Kenya’s top seat.

“Kalonzo Musyoka has supported Raila Odinga for a long time so I don’t see why he should not tell us that he will support the Kamba Community to get the Presidency. I can talk to Raila to say ‘Kalonzo Tosha’ because I don’t see anything wrong with the Kamba Community leading this country, if we tell Kalonzo to move across the country looking for votes and then we tell Raila to back him I’m sure we can produce a president,” the former Kitui Governor remarked.

Ngilu called upon the Kamba Community to come together and unite for a common course so that they can reap big as a community. She also said that she would look for Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and talk to him about Mwingi County and how the community can get more development from the national government.

“I will sit with him to plan on how we can go to the national table to negotiate for our community because when we have a unified voice we will be listened unlike when everyone speaks up for themselves. I also have a voice and stake in the national politics that can be instrumental in fighting for our community,” Ngilu added.

Ngilu also drummed support for her comeback in Kitui gubernatorial seat saying that the seat is best suited for women who are more glued to their families and have a motherly heart.
