Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has fired a warning shot on the County MCAs who she says are none cooperative and do not have an agenda. The tough-talking Ngilu vowed to send all of them home.

“And I am not lying to you guys, let me tell you. I am with you, just wait and see. Go and tell your colleagues to wait and see. The issue of being harassed by people with no agenda, I will not work with such people.” The Governor said.

“I know where Moi had reached before I said, let’s go. That is where you guys (MCAs) are headed and when you get there you will know. I will return to the voters who are the people here and send you all home. Don’t ever pair me again with people who will not join hands with me to serve you.” Ngilu added.

Ngilu had accompanied Agriculture CS Peter Munya to commission the Kwa – Isiki Water Pan project, in Kitui Rural Sub-County in Mbitini ward. The project has been completed through a partnership by the Kitui County and the National government under the National Agriculture and Rural Inclusive Growth Project (NARIGP).

Ngilu has been fighting with MCAs for some time now, In May 2020, the MCAs rejected the County Public Service Board Nominees. She observed that there is political interference by the Kalonzo Musyoka led Wiper party that has manipulated the majority of the MCAs in Kitui County Assembly to undermine her development agenda.

In June, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu’s NARC party asked the president to dissolve Kitui County and announce fresh elections following differences between Ngilu and Wiper MCAs in the County Assembly.

In July 2020 while passing the 10.292 billion 2020/2021 budget, the MCAs slashed the entire development budget for the Trade, cooperatives, and Investment department which is headed by impeached CECM Philip Mumo and was a blow to Ngilu.
